The short answer
Put clean cardboard in recycling and greasy or food-stained cardboard in the food-waste bin. MyWaste recommends separating the two parts of a takeaway pizza box.

What to do
- Scrape leftover pizza and toppings into the food-waste bin.
- Tear off greasy sections and put them in the food-waste bin.
- Recycle the remaining clean cardboard, dry and loose.
Common mistake to avoid
Do not put a greasy box into recycling just because it is cardboard. Clean frozen-pizza outer packaging can be recycled.
